World's longest glass bridge abruptly closes after just two weeks

That didn't take long.

Just two weeks after China's Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon glass bridge opened to thousands of visitors, it had to close suddenly, with ** re-opening date an**unced yet.

The 430-metre-long bridge, touted as the world's longest see-through bridge, is suspended 300-metres above a valley. Government officials shut it to visitors on Friday for an "internal system update."

Since the record-breaking bridge opened to the public on Aug. 20, it has received more than 10,000 visitors on a daily basis. According to local media reports, the attraction is only supposed to accommodate 8,000 people a day. Read more...
