Two shot dead

PAKPATTAN: Two men were shot dead here on Saturday.

Reportedly, accused Abdul Razzaq of Chak 345/EN entered the house Atta Muhammad Jutt and shot dead Fayyaz Ali and injured three others, including Ghulam Muhammad. The injured were shifted to a hospital where Ghulam died.

VALUABLES TAKEN AWAY: Locals were deprived of cash and other valuables in two separate incidents on Saturday.

Fazalur Rehman of Nawab Shah street of Shaheedi Bazaar, Pakpattan, and his wife were robbed of cash and two cell phones near Chak Saleem Kot. Ahsan Nadeem of Kend Shams was carrying cash in a vehicle and he was intercepted by robbers and was deprived of Rs 1,457,000 and a cell phone. Police have registered cases.

TORTURED: Two people were tortured over an old enmity in Saturday. Shafaqat Habib of Chak 95/EB and his nephew were going to home after saying Friday prayers when accused Haseeb and his accomplice attacked and tortured them and snatched a cell phone from his nephew. Police have registered a case.

TWO FAKE CHEQUE CASES: Two people were booked on charges of issuing fake cheques on Saturday. Accused Abdul Hameed purchased a motorcycle for Rs 69,900 from Ghulam Nabi of Thana Bazaar, Arifwala and gave him a cheque that bounced. Accused Hameed Ahmad bought potato crop for Rs 4,750,000 from Arshad Hussain of Thana Bazaar, Arifwala, and handed him a cheque that was disho**ured. Police have registered two separate cases.

HOMEOWNER HELD: Police booked two people on charges of renting out a house to a man without informing police.

Muhammad Ahmad of Chak 23/KB gave his house to Talib Hussain on rent without informing police. Police have registered a case.

LIQUOR RECOVERED: Police arrested drug peddlers and recovered liquor from their possession on Saturday. Police arrested accused Saqlain Shah of Chak 10/EB with 10 litre liquor, accused Adnan of Jeewan Shah with 9 litre liquor, accused Ijaz Ahmad of Graveyard area of Pakpattan with 5 litre liquor, accused Ammar of Pir Kot with five litre liquor, and accused Wali Muhammad of Chak 86/EB with 9 litre liquor. Police have registered cases against the accused.
