Imran, Qadri take out rallies against government
 

LAHORE/RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s two major cities are witnessing traffic chaos as the opposition parties took out rallies against the government in Lahore and Rawalpindi, Geo News reported on Saturday.

A child died in Lahore as his parents failed to find a way out of the gridlock caused by blockade of roads amid PTI rally led by former cricket hero Imran Khan, who is demanding an inquiry into Panama Leaks revelations about offshore business interests of ruling family.

The provincial government has placed shipping containers to block the roads in different parts of the city. Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah accused the PTI of **t cooperating with the administration.

Addressing his party workers, Imran Khan criticized the Election Commission of Pakistan, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). "If you are a man of ho**r, serve them with **tices whose names appeared in Panama Papers," he asked the FBR chairman.

"You haven't got guts to issue **tices to Nawaz Sharif and his family. Election Commission of Pakistan has become the Election Commission of Muslim League-N," he said.

The second rally was taken out by Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) in the garrison town. A woman is said to have died due to traffic jam.

The government has placed containers near Zero Point in Islamabad after receiving reports that supporters of the PAT are likely to turn to the federal capital.

Dr Tahirul Qadri’s Awami Tehreek is demanding the government to take to task the perpetrators of Model Town carnage which saw dozens of its workers killed as police opened fire in 2014.
