A SpaceX rocket expected to carry an Israeli satellite to space on Saturday appears to have exploded on its pad during a test Thursday morning, according to on the ground reports.*

NASA and SpaceX have **t yet officially confirmed that the accident took place. In a phone call with Mashable, NASA would **t confirm that the explosion took place, saying they have **t been cleared to do so.*

However, photos posted to Twitter show a black plume of ***** rising from the private company's pad at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida.*
