FC posts women staffers at Torkham border
 

LANDIKOTAL: For the first time ever, the Frontier Corps (FC) has posted women staffers at the Torkham border to check the travel documents of the Afghan nationals, an official said on Wednesday.

An official told The News on the condition of a**nymity that four women searchers have been posted at two important checkpoints in Torkham. He said two women were posted at the main Torkham border while the other two were performing duty at Shaheed Mor, sited a kilometer away from border at Torkham. He added that they had directed the female staff to thoroughly check travel documents of all females entering Pakistan. He said it would help reduce security risks as Afghan women enter Pakistan without valid travel documents. Locals have appreciated the FC officials for the deployment of female staff at the checkpoints and said that it would curb illegal cross-border movement.
