IIU, Balochistan universities agree on student exchange
Islamabad: The International Islamic University (IIU) and University of Balochistan on Tuesday agreed upon initiating steps for student exchange programme.
The agreement came during a meeting between Vice Chancellor University of Balochistan Dr Javed Iqbal and IIU Rector Dr. Masoom Yasinzai and President IIU Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh on the new campus of the IIU. The two sides decided that a group of 150 students from Balochistan University would be visiting IIU next month under the youth mobilisation programme where the participants would be briefed about the university.Both Dr. Masoom and Dr. Ahmed condoled the killing of a large number of IIU former students in the recent Quetta suicide bombing. Dr. Masoom said youth must be nurtured in a way that they should be well-prepared for the emerging challenges.He hailed the efforts of Balochistan University and agreed that exchange of students from both sides will help broaden the exposure of students. The rector said the university had also an**unced a special quota for the students of Balochistan. He said the CPEC project must be the prime focus of Pakistani universities which can be helpful in terms of producing a handsome number of human resource which will be directly inducted in the CPEC project attached organizations. Dr. Masoom said a Silk Road School of Tech**logy at IIU would be inaugurated on September 1 at the university which is a joint venture of university and a Chinese organisation.
