PPMA presents case for increase in medicine prices
 

Islamabad: The national and local pharmaceutical industry in Pakistan has **t raised the prices of medicines since 2001 despite a manifold increase in the cost of inflation over the last 16 years; it is the multinational pharmaceutical sector that is solely responsible for rendering medicines out of the reach of the common man. We are here to do business; we have **t opened a Trust.******-bearers of the Pakistan Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing Association (PPMA) made this observation while presenting their case for an increase in the prices of medicines; they were addressing a press conference here at the National Press Club on Monday. PPMA also urged the government and the health department to devise an explicit strategy to distinguish between spurious and sub-standard medicines.
