London is hiring a 'night czar' and people are confused

LONDON — Sadly, London's nightlife seems to be dying a slow and tragic death.

The city's mayor, Sadiq Khan, wants to come to its rescue by advertising for a "night czar" — and whatever such a tyrannical-sounding role entails has set off people's imaginations.*

An increasing number of London's most iconic nightclubs are closing their doors, reflecting the steady decline of the UK's nightclub scene over the past 10 years.*

Indeed, almost half of Britain's nightclubs have shut their doors in the last decade. Just this week, a petition to save beloved London venue Fabric from closure gained more than 20,000 signatures.* Read more...
