Minus-Altaf formula has become inevitable, says Khursheed
 

ISLAMABAD: Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah said on Wednesday that the minus-Altaf formula has become inevitable.

He said the people sitting with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief in London were part of the Indian lobby.“The MQM has ** other option except for the minus-one formula as a person who supports Altaf Husain will be considered as against the state,” the opposition leader said while talking to media persons here at his chamber in the Parliament House.

To a question regarding the press conference of the MQM leader Dr Farooq Sattar, Khursheed said it had been delivered under immense political pressure. “The MQM London will **t sit in silence as the party in London would try its utmost to prevent the transfer of power to Karachi,” he remarked. On the question of framing of a case against Altaf Hussain under Article 6 of the Constitution, he said Article 6 would take much more abuse as Ziaul Haq had hanged the prime minister who had introduced the article in the first place.

Khursheed said the government had talked about imposing Article 6 on Pervez Musharraf but then let him leave the country. “The government has tried to deflect the attention from the PanamaLeaks,” he contended.

The opposition leader said it was **t a correct perception that Pakistan was constituted only by the Mohajirs as Sindhis led from the front for the creation of Pakistan.

Khursheed said it was **t a wise step to take the National Action Plan (NAP) from the ministry and hand over it to tech**crats. He said it would be better that implementation of the NAP remains with the ministry. “Parliament should have the role of oversight on the implementation of NAP,” he added.

The opposition leader said people have elected the lawmakers to represent them in parliament and all the issues should be resolved in parliament. He said he failed to understand why the government was searching solutions outside parliament with tech**crats.
