Two soldiers killed in Tirah blast
 

BARA: Two soldiers were killed and three others sustained injuries when an improvised explosive device (IED) went off in the Tirah Valley in Khyber Agency, official sources said on Wednesday.

The sources said the militants had planted the IED in Rajgal area in Tirah Valley. It exploded when the security forces advanced deeper into the Rajgal Valley bordering Afghanistan.

As a result, two soldiers were killed on the spot while three others sustained injuries. The injured soldiers were shifted to the Combined Military Hospital, Peshawar in helicopter. Meanwhile, the funeral prayers for two soldiers who were killed during the operation in Khyber Agency were offered at the Corps Headquarters here on Wednesday.

KP Gover**r Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, Corps Commander Lt Gen Hidayat ur Rehman and civil and military officials attended the Nimaz-i-Janaza. Later the bodies were dis*****ed to the native towns of the fallen soldiers in Sindh, an official communiqué said.
