Taylor Swift an**unced on Tuesday that she will be donating $1 million in support of the thousands of victims of the Louisiana floods.*

In a statement to AP, Swift explained her connection to Louisiana and the fans that welcomed her there last year.*

"We began The 1989 World Tour in Louisiana, and the wonderful fans there made us feel completely at home," Swift said in a statement. "The fact that so many people in Louisiana have been forced out of their own homes this week is heartbreaking."
