Lady Gaga to star in 'A Star Is Born,' will write and perform new songs

Following months of speculation, Lady Gaga has officially signed on to star opposite Bradley Cooper in a remake of A Star Is Born, for which she'll write and perform original music, it was an**unced Tuesday by Warner Bros.

Cooper will make his directorial debut with the film, which he's also producing with Todd Phillips, among others.

“For those of us lucky e**ugh to watch him work as an actor and producer, it has been clear that Bradley would make this transition to director.
