Hindu doctor shot dead at clinic in Karachi
 

Karachi: A 50-year- old doctor belonging to the Hindu community was shot dead in Karachi, it was reported on Friday.

Police said Dr Preetam Das was sitting in his clinic located in the Hasrat Mohani Colony at midnight on Thursday when someone attacked him. The police added the doctor’s attendant had gone to buy a mobile card when the doctor was attacked in the Pak Colony area, near the Bara Board bus stop.

Officials said there were two attackers on a motorcycle; one entered and shot him in the chest before both men escaped from the scene.He was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he passed away during treatment.Police said the suspect(s) did **t take any valuables from the clinic. Investigators said that it was too early to say who was involved, but investigations are underway. Recently, two members of the Hindu community were among three people shot dead in an attack on a wine shop in the Abbas Town area of the metropolis.
