In just over two months' time, Overwatch has become Blizzard's fastest selling game, with 15 million players across all platforms.

**t only has Overwatch broken Diablo III's record as the fastest-selling PC game in China, the game is also replacing League of Legends in Korean internet cafes.

Between 15 million people buying the game and some players purchasing loot crates for in-game cosmetics, Overwatch has generated over $500 million for Blizzard, helping to make the second quarter of 2016 Blizzard's best ever.



At its peak subscriber count, Blizzard's long-standing MMORPG titan, World of Warcraft, had 12 million players. Part of what pushed Overwatch's quick success was accessibility: Overwatch can be played on PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One, whereas most Blizzard games in the past have been exclusive to PC.* Read more...
