ATC rejects Waseem's request to appear before returning ******r
 

KARACHI: MQM's **minated mayor Waseem Akhtar's request to appear before the returning ******r to submit his **mination papers were rejected by the ATC on Friday.

The court stated that the decision for giving permission regarding this request will be left in charge of the Election Commission.

The ATC conducted proceedings of the case based on a request filed by Waseem Akhtar's lawyer Khawaja Naveed. Waseem Akhtar had filed the request through his lawyer to allow him to appear before a returning ******r to submit the **mination papers for the election of the mayor.

After going over the request. the court rejected the request and stated that the decision to allow Waseem Akhtar to appear in front of the returning ******r was in the hands of the Election Commission. The court also stated that it was within the power of the returning ******r to summon Waseem Akhtar.

Khwaja Nadeem, Akhtars lawyer. stated that they would turn to the Election Commission after receiving a copy of the court's order.
