Police granted physical custody of Qandeel murder suspect
 

MULTAN: Police were granted a four-day physical remand of Haq Nawaz, cousin of slain model Qandeel Baloch, who also happens to be a suspect in her murder case.

Haq Nawaz was presented at the Civil Court for a hearing pertaining to the Qandeel Baloch murder case, which was presided by Civil Judge Mohammad Haris Muneer Qazi on Friday. Haq Nawaz was presented before the court since his five-day physical remand had expired today.



During the proceedings of the case, investigating ******r Atiya Naheed stated that Qandeel Baloch's iPhone and passport had been obtained from suspect Haq Nawaz. The phone had been sent to a laboratory so that data could be extracted from it. She also said that Haq Nawaz's presence at the time of Qandeel's murder and his support in her killing had been proved hence the court had granted police a four-day remand of the accused.

Qandeel Baloch was a controversial social media personality who was murdered allegedly by her brother Muhammad Waseem for ho**ur. Following her death, an investigation was carried out and it was claimed that other suspects were also part of her murder, such as a taxi driver Abdul Basit and Qandeel's cousin Haq Nawaz.
