SC seeks reply from Punjab govt on billboards issue
 

LAHORE: The Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday asked the Punjab government to appraise it as to how the billboards and hoardings of immense sizes, which are endangering the public life and property, are permitted to be installed at public places, property, parks, roads, footpaths and other such places.

A two-member bench of the apex court headed by Justice Mian Saqib Nisar and comprising Justice Faisal Arab heard a petition at Supreme Court Branch Registry Lahore regarding issuance of ** objection certificate (**C) for installation of publicity boards. The court asked the Punjab government under what authority of law this is permissible. It asked the respondents and Punjab government to submit a reply within 15 days.
