These images, released to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of Scandinavian Airlines, record the mouthwatering array of in-flight food served from the 1950s to the 1980s.

The extravagant first class meals include fresh lobster, salmon and even caviar, along with entire ham legs and charcuterie arrangements carved right in the aisle by a toque-wearing chef wielding a **w-unthinkably large knife.

The food is served on fine china in first class, but eco**my passengers get the familiar dull, plastic rectangles.
