Elon Musk confirms Tesla is planning to build a Model X-based minibus

Two weeks ago, Tesla CEO Elon Musk revealed the second part of his master plan for the upstart automaker. In it, he divulged that Tesla would build a commercial vehicle called 'Tesla Semi,' along with a few other intriguing tidbits — including the fact that auto**mous Teslas might compete with Uber in the future.

Last Friday, however, in response to some pestering by automotive website Jalopnik, Musk admitted that Tesla is planning to build an EV minibus based upon the Model X platform.

This revelation stemmed from the passage in the 'Master Plan, Part Deux' that stipulates the producing of a "high passenger-density urban transport" vehicle — i.e. a 'bus.' Read more...
