Imran Khan congratulates PML-N over AJK election win
 

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan on Friday congratulated the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz for its victory in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly.

The ruling party in the centre seemed to sweep the election as u**fficial and unconfirmed results poured in after the polling on Thursday.

“Even though traditionally party in power in Islamabad tends to win AJK elections, I would still like to congratulate PMLN for its AJK win,” he tweeted.

The PTI chairman also congratulated the winning PTI candidates for what he said putting up a great fight against heavy odds in the AJK elections.

The PML-N has so far been ahead of its rival political parties in Azad Kashmir election, followed by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan People's Party (PPP) with two seats each. Muslim Conference has also grabbed one seat, while an independent candidate too emerged victorious in the elections.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will arrive in Muzaffarabad on Friday to thank Kashmiris for extending their support to his party in the polls, his spokesperson said.
