LOS ANGELES — Divergent's final film reportedly may skip the big screen.

Ascendant, the final installment in Lionsgate's dystopian franchise, may instead launch as a television movie followed by a spi**ff ******.

The studio declined to comment. However, sources familiar with the situation told Variety that Lionsgate is exploring the alternative method of distribution.




The franchise, based on the best-selling books by Veronica Roth, has had a shaky box ****** track record.*
