BVH staffers take out rally against AMS

BAHAWALPUR: Hundreds of the Bahawal Victoria Hospital employees took out a rally against AMS Dr Umar Farooq and Operation Theater Assistant Muhammad Zahid for allegedly torturing a ward boy.

The protesters took out a rally from outside the emergency ward up to the BVH MS ****** where they staged a sit-in. They demanded immediate removal of Dr Umar Farooq and M Zahid. They chanted slogans against them. Meanwhile, BVH Medical Superintendent Dr Shahid Faraz took a **tice of the protest and promised an inquiry. He suspended Operation Theater Assistant Muhammad Zahid and took back powers delegated to Dr Umer Farooq as the AMS. Later, the protesters ended their strike.





Strike continues

BAHAWALPUR: Strike of All Pakistan Wapda Hydroelectric Workers Union activists entered the second day here on Friday.

They staged a sit-in outside the SE ****** and demanded transfer of SE Attaullah Bhutta for his alleged anti-employees policies. They raised slogans against Attaullah Bhutta. The protesters vowed to continue the strike till the acceptance of their demand.



Four of a family injured in roof collapse

BAHAWALPUR: Four members of a family were injured in a roof collapse at Chak 15, Gajyani, near Chishtian on Friday.

The family members were present in the house when its roof collapsed. As a result, 20-year-old Sultan, his 15-year-old brother Fareed and their sisters, 18-year-old Nida and 16-year-old Fatima were injured. They were shifted to the Chishtian THQ Hospital.
