Ryan Gosling won't be the only one singing in Whiplash director Damien Chazelle's upcoming Hollywood musical La La Land, but his dulcet tones form the backbone of this new trailer.

Gosling stars as Sebastian, a struggling Tinseltown jazz musician whose star is on the rise. Success isn't always welcome, however; for Sebastian and his aspiring actress girlfriend, Mia (Emma Stone), professional growth threatens their personal happiness.

Musical. Hollywood setting. Star-crossed lovers. This can't end well.
