Sanders finally set to endorse Clinton
 

Portsmouth, United States: After months of bitter campaigning, Bernie Sanders will take the stage with one-time rival Hillary Clinton on Tuesday, and is expected to finally deliver his long-awaited endorsement of the presumptive Democratic presidential **minee.

The joint appearance at a high school in Portsmouth, New Hampshire is the culmination of weeks of talks between the two campaigns aimed at unifying the party in preparation for taking on Republican Donald Trump in **vember.

The 74-year-old Sanders, a US senator from Vermont, waged a tougher-than-expected year-long battle against the former secretary of state, but Clinton clinched e**ugh delegates to secure the **mination in early June.

Sanders, a feisty self-described democratic socialist, nevertheless has refused to concede defeat to his more moderate rival, although he has said he will vote for Clinton and will do anything to help defeat Trump.

Sanders wants to ensure that his ideas are part of the party platform presented at the Democratic National Convention later this month in Philadelphia, when Clinton is formally **minated.

The Clinton and Sanders camps said Monday the two will join forces Tuesday "to discuss their commitment to building an America that is stronger together and an eco**my that works for everyone, **t just those at the top."

Party officials met over the weekend in Orlando, Florida to finalize the Democratic platform, which they described as the most ambitious and progressive yet in history.

The party reached agreement on language concerning climate change, health care and raising the minimum wage in America to $15 per hour. But they reportedly failed to reach common ground on the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade accord.
