Elected representatives to be empowered: DCO
From Our Correspondent LALAMUSA: District Coordination ******r (DCO) Liaqat Ali Chattha Saturday said the Punjab government was serious in transferring powers to elected representatives and has provided Rs 2.5 million grant for each Union Council for ******s. Addressing a meeting with newly elected councilors, UC chairmen, vice chairmen in Dinga, Kharian and Municipal committee Lalamusa, the DCO said relevant Municipal Administrators would have meeting with the elected representatives after every 15 days. He said the UC chairman would be empowered to issue birth certificate of children up to 7 years of age and also death certificates. The DCO also directed district ******r community organisation to appoint missing secretaries.
