Says he will go to every limit for the accountability of the PM
KARACHI: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Saturday said the party is struggling against the politics of ‘kingship’ in the country. Talking to media persons before leaving for Islamabad from Karachi, Imran an**unced to go to every limit, if needed, for the accountability of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif as the 120-day sit-in at Islamabad had prepared the party for larger protests. “**w if we set out for a sit-in we will be able to shut down the entire city” the PTI chief said. He said his party had already filed a reference in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) calling for the resignation of the prime minister. “After k**cking the doors of the ECP, we will go to court, and then we will march on the streets,” he said. Speaking about the law and order in Karachi, he said that things in the city had improved. He said around 5,000 police personnel were fired in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over corruption, setting an example for other provinces, Imran said, adding that as many as 70,000 cops are deployed for the security protocol of politicians in Punjab. Talking about Amjad Sabri’s killing, he urged the Rangers who have a special mandate to operate in Karachi against criminals to arrest the late Qawwal’s killers. Earlier on Friday, in Karachi, the PTI chief stated that a movement against the government shall be initiated after Eidul Fitr and that he could foresee the ‘demise’ of the rulers of the country. Imran said that peace could **t be established in the city until the police is depoliticised, adding that the system of governance also needed to be changed. “Nawaz Sharif was involved in theft, **w he says he himself will make the laws (for investigation),” Imran said. He alleged that the Sharif brothers had bribed members of the judiciary, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and those belonging to the Election Commission. He said that Sharif brothers took loans worth Rs4 billion prior to the 2013 general elections.
