Badin councilor has joined PPP willingly: local leader
 

KARACHI:Alleged kidnapped councilor Luqman Qambrani alias Sheedi of district Badin found in critical and unconscious condition after 40 days.

Councilor Qmabrani was elected as general ccouncilor from Dr Zulifqar Mirza panel during the local government elections and is **w admitted to a private hospital of Hyderabad where his condition is said to be serious. Son of Councilor Qambrani, Munir Qmabrani, blamed the ruling party’s district leaders for kidnapping his father and torturing him to change his loyalties in favour of the ruling Pakistan People's Party.

Talking to The News, Munir Qambrani told that his father was kidnapped two times after being elected as general councilor from Ward **1, Tando Bago, district Badin, as he defeated the ruling party candidate with heavy margin.

After his success the ruling Pakistan People's Party leaders put a huge pressure upon his father to change loyalties from Dr Mirza group and kidnapped him first time and brought him before media where he, under gunpoint, joined the ruling PPP, but as soon as he got released, he cleared his position about his affiliations, added Munir Qambrani.

Replying to a question, Munir Qambrani said, “As my father cleared his position, he again kidnapped by People's Party workers on May 16, this year, and then he approached to local Police and met Badin SSP Abdul Qayoom Pitafi and submitted a written application for legal action and release of his father, but all in vain as police, despite helping him supported rivals.” Munir Qambrani handed over a copy of written complaint regarding the kidnapping of his father submitted with SSP ****** Badin on May 16, 2016.

The story of Councilor Luqman Qambrani is very interesting, he was elected with the support of Dr Mirza, but after one month he an**unced in a press conference for joining the ruling People's Party. He appeared in a programme of Dr Mirza where he said that he has joined the PPP under pressure and **w he is with Dr Mirza.

It is pertinent to mention here that Mr Qambrani took an active part in elections of reserved seats and became proposer of Dr Mirza's mi**rity councilor Aishwar Das and seconder of Dr Mirza group lady Councilor Shahar Ba** Qambrani. Chairmanship of the District Council and Taluka Councils of Badin district became the matter of life and death for the ruling PPP and its rivals. Badin is the only district of interior Sindh where ruling Pakistan People's Party was defeated on majority of seats by Dr Mirza group

When this reporter contacted SSP Badin Abdul Qayoom Pitafi to get official version on the issue, the SSP Pitafi, instead of replying the quarries, blamed this reporter for doing a false story.

When this reporter repeated his questions, the SSP Pitafi, who is the son of MPA of ruling People’s Party Sardar Ahmed Ali Pitafi claimed that Luqman Qambrani has joined the PPP,and ** one has kidnapped him these rumours are being spread by some quarters to create bed image of ruling People’s Party.

Despite repeated questions, SSP Pitafi did **t commented what action was taken by Police when son of Luqman approached the Police regarding alleged kidnapping of his father Luqman Qambrani and said that when Luqman himself became stable and blames someone for his kidnapping then action would be taken as per law.

It is worth **ting here that SSP Qayoom Pitafi is among the 40 Police ******rs who were inducted in Police service in 1997 without any commission or examination on political basis. Pakistan People's Party district Badin's Secretary General Aziz Memon told The News that all the news regarding the kidnapping of Luqman Qambrani is false, and he was willfully joined People's Party. Dr Memon further said that Luqman Qambrani is under treatment at Hyderabad and party workers looking after his treatment.
