Pledge against militancy in Mohmand Agency reaffirmed
 

GHALLANAI: Elders of the Safi tribe and representatives of the Political Administration at a jirga here on Friday reaffirmed the pledge to cooperate to eliminate militancy from Mohmand Agency.

Addressing a jirga held at Ghallanai, the administrative headquarters of Mohmand Agency, Assistant Political Agent Haseebur Rehman Khalil and tehsildar of Safi tehsil, Meraj Khan lauded the people of the area for their avowed commitment to restore peace in their respective areas.

Among others the jirga was largely attended by elders of the four main tribes of the Safi tehsil including Malik Saadullah Khan, Malik Ayaz Safi, Malik Khan Wali, Malik Ibrahim, Malik Dawa Khan Chinari, Malik Azeem Qandahari and Malik Rehman Gul.

Speaking on the occasion, the tribal elders said to extend holding jirgas on village level to find solution to the problems. They also informed the representatives of the political administration of increasing the frequency of foot patrol by tribesmen in their respective areas to keep an eye on the movements of suspected people.
