Dowry case: SC allows woman petitioner to hire counsel
 

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Friday allowed a woman petitioner to hire a counsel seeking recovery of dowry after divorce.

The court also summoned the former husband of the woman on the next date of hearing.

The division bench of the apex court, headed by Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan, heard the case filed by a woman Khursheed. During the course of proceeding, the petitioner told the court that her husband was already married but he did **t tell her about his first marriage.

She said her husband did **t give her two kanal land and 60 grams gold jewellery.She said her former husband did **t implement the high court’s order for provision of dowry. Later, the court summoned the former husband of the petitioner and adjourned hearing of the case for an indefinite period.
