IHC asks govt to de-**tify Finance Ministry JS from post of DG CDNS
 

ISLAMABAD: A division bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) here on Friday directed the federal government to de-**tify a Joint Secretary of the Ministry Finance, Waqar Ahmed, from the post of director general (DG) of the Central Directorate of the National Savings (CDNS).

Waqar Ahmed was serving as a caretaker DG CDNS since January 26, 2015.The IHC division bench, comprising Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb, directed the federal government to removeaqar A Whmed from the said post.

Petitioner Saeed Khan, a resident of Peshawar, thorough his counsel Barrister Jehangir Khan Jadoon, had been contending before the IHC that the CDNS, an institution of national importance, is running without a permanent DG and federal government seems least interested in filling the vacant post as a joint secretary finance has been given additional charge of the DG CDNS. The petitioner impugned the appointment of a joint secretary budget, ministry of finance, Waqar Ahmed as caretaker director general (DG) CDNS.
