Traders meet Fesco officials

Warn sit-in if power **t restored in 2 days

TOBA TEK SINGH: A delegation of Anjuman-e-Tajran Friday met Fesco officials in Fesco Complex and apprised them of people’s troubles regarding 18 hours loadshedding.

The traders were led by their president Haji Fiaz Ahmad Faizi, Maulana Munem Husnain Siddiqui and Arif Qazi. They warned a sit-in outside Fesco Complex if electricity was **t restored to the city and its surrounding areas in two days.

Meanwhile, scores of villagers blocked traffic on Toba-Faisalabad Road near Chak 284/JB for an hour against Fesco men who allegedly stole wire from poles. A protester Liaqat Ali said costly copper wire is stolen from electricity poles of their areas by thieves in collusion with Fesco staff.

HEAT CLAIMS LIFE: A 70-year-old man died of severe heat in Kamalia on Friday.Muhammad Esa fainted in the heat exacerbated by excessive loadshedding and was shifted to Kamalia THQ Hospital where he died.

JUDGE RETIRES: Gojra Additional District and Sessions Judge Chaudhry Muhammad Jamil retired on Friday. District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Yar Wallana awarded him a shield on the occasion. Senior civil judge Hafiz Muhammad Yusuf was also present on the occasion.



Al-Quds rally

TOBA TEK SINGH: Al-Quds Day was observed at Kamalia on Friday. The Majlis Wahdatul Muslimeen, Shia Ulema Council and Imamia Students Organisation took out a rally from Shia Jamia Mosque up to TMA Chowk. The participants were chanting slogans against Israeli atrocities on Palestinians. Speaking on the occasion, Shia Ulema Council district president Syed Zamin Ali Shah, Mumtaz Hussain Gondal and Syed Mohsin Naqvi urged the Muslim countries to boycott the products of Israel.



PML-Q leader quits party

TOBA TEK SINGH: PML-Q district youth wing president Irfan Chaudhry on Friday quit the PML-Q and joined the Awam League of former Punjab education minister Riaz Fatyana. He made the an**uncement after a meeting with Fatyana at Kamalia.

TOBA TEK SINGH: DCO Amir Ijaz Akbar has said that ******s of UC chairmen will be opened after Eid. Addressing union council chairmen, vice-chairmen and councillors at Gojra on Friday, he said that they would also be granted funds for their constituencies. He said that schedule for elections on reserved seats would soon be an**unced. PML-N MPA Haji Abdul Qadeer Awan also addressed.
