Goodbye productivity: Google Calendar and Hangouts are down

Google Calendar and Google Hangouts, the staples of Internet socializing and scheduling, are currently down for many users.



It appears to be a server error, though the cause is unk**wn. It's unclear how widespread the outage is, but from the complaints on Twitter, it's affecting users worldwide.











To stay on top of the status of Google's different services, you can check out its App Status Dashboard, although it can be a little delayed. The dashboard currently shows Hangouts as green and Calendar as orange, which means "Service disruption," and **t the full-on red "Service outage."
