Thousands protest Brexit in central London

While 52 percent of the UK voted to leave the EU earlier this month, those who would rather see the country remain aren't staying silent.

Over 4 million people have signed a petition calling for a second referendum (which was ironically started by a Leave campaigner anticipating the opposite result).

On Tuesday night, meanwhile, thousands*flocked to Trafalgar Square for a Stand Together event - even though it was cancelled due to safety concerns. Some 1,500 attended, according to local reports.
