Banks to remain open on July 2 and July 9
 

Dar asks SBP to ensure 24-hour operation of ATM service during Eid holidays

ISLAMABAD: Banks in the whole country will remain open on July 2 and July 9 to facilitate consumers and ensure cash availability around the Eid holidays.

Finance Minister Senator Ishaq Dar on Monday asked the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) to ensure 24-hour operation of Automated Teller Machines (ATM) service by the banks to facilitate customers during the Eid holidays. The minister, during a meeting with Deputy Gover**r Saeed Ahmad, said that sufficient cash must be kept available in the ATMs to facilitate the people and save them from any inconvenience, according to the statement issued by the ministry.

Taking **tice of media reports regarding the long holidays during Eid, the minister conveyed his concern to the deputy gover**r and urged that people must be provided full facilities to draw money from banks.He said that all the staff must do their job actively and stressed for ensuring the presence of staff on counters concerned to execute the operations smoothly.
