Sabri case: ?****** **t used in any target killing in city before?

The murder ****** in Qawwal Amjad Sabri’s case has **t been used in any previous target killing in Karachi, an investigating official said on Monday.

“Our forensic experts thoroughly examined the spent bullet shells of a 30-bore pistol found at the crime scene and it was found that the ****** by the attackers wasn’t used any previous killings in the city,” SSP Saqib Ismail Memon, the head of the Sindh police forensic division, told The News.

He added that forensic experts had also examined Sabri’s vehicle so that any other clue could be found.

Police investigators have also recorded the statements of three witnesses in the case.

SSP Central Muqadas Haider told The News that police had recorded the statements of three people whose shops were adjacent to the crime scene. “We have separately recorded their statements and they could be very helpful in the case,” he added.

Earlier, the law-enforcement agencies carried out raids in connection with the case.

Sabri was travelling with an associate when two men riding a motorcycle had opened fire on his car on June 22.

He was shot multiple times. Police had found bullet shells of a 30-bore pistol at the crime scene. A team was formed comprising officials of police and other departments to probe into the case.

The team included the SSP Central and the SSP Investigation of the West Range.

Some suspects were taken into custody in a raid conducted in Surjani Town and shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation. A**ther law-enforcement department had conducted raids in other areas of the city and nabbed several suspects, particularly in the Peeli Kothi area.
