Lawyers protest blocks Canal road in Lahore
 

LAHORE: Lawyers protested against the murder of Amjad Sabri and the kidnapping of Owais Ali Shah, son of Justice Sajjad Ali Shah on Friday by blocking the Canal road.

According to details, protesters took to the streets to demand the killers of famous qawwal Amjad Sabri be brought to the book and for the swift recover of the kidnapped son of the Chief Justice of Sindh High Court, Justice Sajjad Ali Shah.

Due to the blockage of the road, a large number of vehicles gathered beside the canal as citizens encountered difficulties because of the protest.

Lawyers wearing black armbands chanted slogans in favour of Barrister Owais Ali Shah and Amjad Sabri. The President of the Lahore High Court Bar demanded that the government do its bit in bringing the killers of Amjad Sabri to justice.

Amjad Sabri, a re**wned qawwal, was buried yesterday after he had been gunned down on Wednesday by armed assailants in Karachi's Liaquatabad area. A couple of days ago, Owais Ali Shah, who is the son of Justice Sajjad Ali Shah, was kidnapped from a supermarket in Karachi's Clifton area.
