Mayhem is a phrase that follows Volition everywhere, thanks to its flamboyant Saints Row*universe.* Agents of Mayhem*is *obvious extension of pure, unbridled chaos.

The studio’s upcoming action/shooter embodies what Studio Design Manager A**op Shekar calls “Volition tone and humor,” meaning it’s colorful, funny and doesn’t for a second take itself too seriously.

Deep Silver’s E3 demo further reinforced just how well Agents of Mayhem managed to capture that Saints Row vibe. Futuristic Seoul, where this particular portion was set, was bright and full of life. The characters had cliche names names like Hardtack and Hollywood, with perfectly matched personalities, and the mission set-up was a cheerful animated cutscene. And then there’s the fact that the game’s two main factions are named Legion and Mayhem—and if you couldn’t tell just from that, Mayhem are the good guys. Read more...
