Malik backs Allama Nasir, urges govt to fully implement NAP

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People's Party’s senior leader and ex-interior minister Senator Abdul Rehman Malik said on Sunday that the menace of terrorism, target killings and growing sense of insecurity among mi**rities posed a threat to Pakistan’s peace and security. Talking to media persons after having a meeting with Majlis Wajhdat Muslimeen leader Allama Nasir Abbas Jaffary here, Malik said that the Prime Minister should push for the formation of a commission on the trend of target killings, of which Shia community members were major victim of it. The former interior an**unced to write a letter to the Prime Minister on this matter. He believed that apart from certain local banned outfits, some countries were also involved in destabilising Pakistan, who wanted anarchy across Pakistan. Malik, who loudly points out Lashkar-e- Jhangvi and Taliban as the Zaliman and prime terrorists on the floor of the Parliament and outside, said that the government must fully implement the National Action Plan to rid Pakistan of terrorism. Speaking on the occasion, MWM Secretary General Allama Nasir, who is leading hunger strike outside the National Press Club, emphasised that the only way of ridding Pakistan of terrorism and the elements involved in killing Shias, particularly lawyers, doctors, engineers and teachers, was to fully implement the National Action Plan. He cautioned the government against showing leniency in dealing with terrorists. He wanted the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, led by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, to condemn recent wave of target killings in the province, particularly in Peshawar and Dera Ismail Khan and take action against the banned outfits active again after remaining dormant for some time. Allama Nasir insisted that **t only terrorists, but banned organisations, surfacing with different identities and their supporters and facilitators should also be taken to task to make the National Action Plan a success. The MWM leader made it clear that their protest would **t end unless, their demands would be met and the government would start action in the light of the same. He said that the oppressed segments of the society must be given justice, accusing the government of **t fulfilling its constitutional duty of protecting lives of all Pakistan, irrespective of faith and creed.
