US had informed of drone strike on Pak-Afghan border on May 21: FO
ISLAMABAD: The Foreign ****** issued a ****** of statements in response to the drone attack that killed Afghan Taliban leader Mullah Akhtar Mansour.
According to the spokesperson of the Foreign ******, United States had **tified Pakistan regarding the drone strike on May 21 which occurred at the Pak-Afghan border. Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif were informed regarding the drone strike after it had taken place. The FO spokesperson revealed further that a man by the name of Wali Muhammad Khan, a resident of Qilla Abdullah district, had been killed in the attack. He had entered Pakistan via Taftan, which borders with Afghanistan. Wali Muhammad held a Pakistani passport and identity card, it was also disclosed by the Foreign ******. Wali Muhammad had been traveling from Taftan in a rented car, which he had obtained from a transport company in Taftan. The FO spokesperson also revealed that Wali Muhammad's passport also contained an Iranian visa. The car was found from the Pak-Afghan border in a decimated state. The Foreign ****** spokesperson said a drone strike on Pakistan was against international law and was an attack on its sovereignty.
