Long lines at airport security checkpoints are attracting attention ahead of the summer travel season.

The problem has become so conspicuous that officials in a handful of cities are **w discussing how they can take airport security into their own hands. New York City, Chicago and Phoenix are among the biggest cities who are putting the Transportation Security Administration on **tice.
