**wshera Nazim, DC claim issue being manipulated
 

**WSHERA: The **wshera District Nazim Liaqat Khan Khattak and Deputy Commissioner Iftikhar Ali have claimed that some elements are trying to use the issue of Botanical Garden located in the Azakhel Park for personal and political gains.

Speaking at a news conference here, they said the district government had provided 120 kanal of land to the University of Peshawar for the Botanical Garden for which only 50 kanal of land was needed.

They said the district administration and the provincial government were determined to set up a technical university on 569 kanal of land in the area.They claimed that the court had issued a stay order in the case. They urged the University of Peshawar administration to respect the court order.

Liaqat Khattak, who is brother of Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, and Deputy Commissioner Iftikhar Ali alleged that the University of Peshawar administration was hiding facts. They said the Botanical Garden was set up on 50 kanal land of the Azakhel Park leased out to the university in 2005 when Daud Khattak was the district nazim. They added that the remaining 83 acres of land of the Azakhel Park was still owned by the **wshera District Council. They said that all facts about the issue would be presented before the court during the hearing on May 23.

The District Nazim said the opposition parties were against the development of **wshera while some academicians were politicizing the issue for their personal gains.
