TVF's 'How I Met Your Mother' satire takes a scathing look at marital rape in India

A new satirical sketch by Indian digital entertainment company The Viral Fever's channel Girliyappa takes a hard-hitting look at marital rape in India through a spoof of the popular sitcom How I Met Your Mother.

Titled How I Raped Your Mother, it takes the form of a living room discussion in which the troubled protagonist Devika tells her family that her husband has been forcing himself on her. The family first dismisses her concerns, and then pressurises her to accept it and move on.*The video uses a sitcom-style laughter track to highlight the family's **nchalant attitude towards rape and consent.
