Asian Libraries Moot in September

The first-ever Asian Libraries Conference will be held at the Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) in the first week of September to promote book-reading culture and strengthen research-based academic work at higher education level.

It is being organised by the Pakistan Library Association in collaboration with the AIOU and Department of Libraries, Government of Pakistan. It will be a two-day event, to be participated by the representatives of national libraries from home and abroad.

The moot is aimed at enhancing regional cooperation in respect of k**wledge and resource sharing. The conference’s participants will exchange their expertise and experience to make the library a strong source of academic research. AIOU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Shahid Siddiqui said they will extend necessary support to the conference’s organiser to make the event successful.
