KP minister says ** cut in LG funds
PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Senior Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Inayatullah Khan on Monday said the government had **t slashed the funds for the local governments.
He said that 50 per cent development funds had been released to local government representatives along with their salaries. Speaking at a news conference at Peshawar Press Club, he said it was **t right to say that the government had cut down the LG funds due to fiscal shortfall in the current financial year. He said the provincial government spent 60 to 70 per cent of funds allocated under the Annual Development Programme (ADP). The senior minister criticised the federal government for **t releasing the outstanding amount of net hydel profit (NHP) as per its agreement with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government. He said the federal government had promised to ensure the release of initial installment of Rs25billion under the head of NHP in the current financial year.
