As torrential rains lashed the Houston area, causing floods, rescue workers struggled to save dozens of horses stranded in the high waters at the*Cypress Trail Horse Stables.

Media reports varied on how many horses were rescued after many were tangled in submerged fences. The Houston Chronicle **ted between 70 and 80 horses while KHOU reported nearly 100 horses were involved.*
