Chinese authorities in Guangzhou, China, resorted to forcibly dismantling a Ronald McDonald statue that stood on the sidewalk of a McDonald's outlet on the Huadu district's Longzhu Street on Sunday.

In Guangzhou, it's illegal to place outdoor advertising on the sidewalks. According to a government official, repeated warnings to McDonald's to remove the mascot have fallen on deaf ears, reported People's Daily.




"We've asked them to remove the Ronald McDonald statue from the sidewalk several times. But they have refused to cooperate," an employee at the government sub-district ****** told Chinese reporters. Read more...
