Ringo Starr is joining artists like Bruce Springsteen in protesting **rth Carolina's*House Bill 2 by canceling an upcoming show in the state.*

The former Beatle was scheduled to perform at the Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary on June 18. He an**unced on Wednesday that he's pulling out in protest of the law's "bigotry."

"I'm sorry to disappoint my fans in the area, but we need to take a stand against this hatred," Starr said in a statement on his Facebook page. "Spread peace and love."

The law requires that transgender people use bathrooms and locker rooms that are designated for "their biological ***."
