2015 gave us the despised yet useful selfie stick. 2016 however, has brought us the virtual reality selfie stick.

During Facebook's F8 Developer conference on Wednesday, CTO*Mike Schroepfer showed off a virtual reality selfie stick, because why travel somewhere to look like a tourist when you can do it from the comforts of your own home?

The selfie stick debuted in Facebook's Social VR, a demonstration on interacting with someone in virtual reality, instead of having real human contact.
