'American Idol' brought back national treasure William Hung for its finale

In 2003, one of our favorite national pastimes involved mercilessly mocking a young boy with a dream and ** talent from*American Idol.*

On Thursday, in ho**r of the ****** finale of the singing competition, Idol dragged out season 3's William Hung to perform "She Bangs," so we could all relive those simpler times.*

And while Hung's hopes of being the next Ricky Martin never came to fruition, he still seems totally content with his 15-minutes-turned-into-15-years of fame.*
