On Wednesday, Microsoft hailed the official launch of its HoloLens augmented reality device to developers at its Build 2016 conference

But unlike the past HoloLens demos, which were impressive e**ugh to draw applause audience members, today's demo was less awe-inspiring and more like a slice of bad '80s special effects
